Persons possessing individual firearms permits may lend out or hand over firearms listed on the firearms permit. A loan declaration is required.

Persons possessing individual firearms permits may loan out or hand over firearms listed on the firearms permit for a period of up to four weeks. Pistols or revolvers may only be loaned out to or handed over to persons possessing a valid firearms permit for this type of firearm. The person loaning the firearm must fulfil the minimum age requirement as specified in the Firearms Act.

Firearms cannot be loaned out to persons who have had a firearm confiscated or is prohibited from owning or possessing a firearm, or is otherwise regarded as incompetent to possess a firearm.

Persons loaning out or handing over firearms must provide the lender with a dated and signed declaration (loan declaration). This declaration is valid as a firearms permit and must always accompany the firearm. A loan declaration can be found on the right hand side of this web page.

Companies or institutions with collective firearms permits may hand over firearms to employees who need them in the course of their job. A control certificate must be issued - this is valid as a firearms permit.
