According to updated prognosis from NVE there still will be downpour and wind. In Longyearbyen the downpour will be rain and sleet. The risk that avalanches will be a threat to houses is considered as low.

So far, no avalanches are observed around Longyearbyen. The risks of slush avalanches beeing a treat to the houses are unchanged from Saturday and are considered as moderate.

The ice on Longyearelva has broken up because of more water in the river. The measures taken to keep the waterways open are maintained. This concerns both Vannledningsdalen and the water drains by the road to the airport. The footbridge between Road 220 and 200 (Perleporten) is still closed.

Longyearbyen Community Council and The Governor are monitoring the situation closely. Updated information will be announced when necessary.
